Jasmine Donahaye’s publications include biography, narrative non-fiction, fiction, poetry, and cultural criticism. Her memoir, Losing Israel (2015), won the non-fiction category of Wales Book of the Year, and her story Theft was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature’s V.S. Pritchett Memorial Prize. Her biography, The Greatest Need: the creative life and troubled times of Lily Tobias, a Welsh Jew in Palestine (2015) is the first account of the life and work of author Lily Tobias. She is currently working on a biography of naturalist and travel writer HB Tristram.

Before taking up a post at Swansea University, where she is Professor of Creative Writing, she worked for many years in the publishing sector, and she is a frequent commentator in the Welsh media. She was elected a Fellow of the Learned Society of Wales in 2017, and was made a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2018.
