Hannah Dee has been studying or working in AI and AI-adjacent fields since the early 90s, and has recently started teaching information security, which has opened up a whole new world of fear and loathing. She is a women in tech activist with a national profile, and in 2024 was awarded an MBE for services to technology and women in the IT sector.
A lot has been said in the media about AI and risk with regard to jobs, the economy, and education. There remain some immediate and near-future challenges regarding cybersecurity that the public may not be aware of. This talk will highlight several categories of AI powered threat, through con artists using AI to craft more effective scams to your own ‘AI’ making mistakes and exposing your data.
Hannah was also one of the co-curators of the first ever TEDx Aberystwyth, and during lockdown gave an emergency TEDx talk from her kitchen table (about women in tech) with three days to prepare. This time she is looking forward to doing it properly – and we are so excited to hear Hannah’s talk!
