Becca Head

Becca Head grew up in rural west Wales and has 10 years’ experience working in the charitable sector. After working as a Support Worker at Area 43’s youth cafe, Depot, Becca led the Dyfodol Ni Partnership, an innovative youth-led project working on new ways of combating young people’s mental health in Ceredigion.

In her current role as Development Manager with Area 43, Becca is passionate about growing and sharing Area 43’s ethos, and to educate others on the importance of amplifying youth voice and empowering young people to make change.

In her talk, Becca will advocate for young people. We must make a commitment, a genuine commitment, to stand shoulder to shoulder with young people, face those in power alongside them, and demand, without giving any quarter, that they be listened to and treated with respect. We have to stake our efforts, our work, our ethos, our very reputation on the basic premise that young people are best placed to know what they want and need, and that they should be active agents in their own lives. We need to hand over power to young people, provide them with resources and influence – give them decision-making power, give them space to speak, give them money – and take on the role of facilitators of their ambitions.

Join us on the 22nd February to listen to her passionate talk about empowering young people to be changemakers.
